Overview

Product Overview

The Wire Butt Welder joins prepared wire ends by clamping them in opposing holders, passing resistance-welding current through the joint and applying controlled upsetting force. The process creates a continuous wire connection without adding a separate filler piece when the material and setup are suitable.

The TLPWBW range includes 5, 8, 12, 15 and 20 kVA models. All are listed for 400 V, 50/60 Hz, single-phase input, with model-specific fuse ratings and duty-cycle values. The compact stand-mounted arrangement supports workshop use near wire drawing, processing, fabrication and maintenance operations.

Available wire ranges vary by material and model. Listed coverage includes suitable unalloyed steel below 0.5% carbon, alloyed or carbon steel on the designated 8 kVA model, and selected copper and aluminium diameters on specified models. Material composition, surface condition, end preparation and welding settings all influence joint quality.

Correct model selection should be based on the wire material, carbon or alloy content, minimum and maximum diameter, production frequency, required joint strength, subsequent drawing or processing, available electrical supply and inspection requirements. Representative weld trials are recommended for new alloys or critical applications.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Wire Butt Welder used for?
It is used to resistance-weld suitably prepared wire ends together for continuity during wire processing, fabrication, maintenance and related production operations.
Which models are included in the TLPWBW range?
The supplied specification covers TLPWBW-5K, TLPWBW-8K, TLPWBW-12K, TLPWBW-15K and TLPWBW-20K with ratings from 5 to 20 kVA.
Can the machine weld steel wire?
Yes, within the model-specific ranges listed for suitable unalloyed steel below 0.5% carbon. TLPWBW-8K also lists 2–8 mm alloyed steel wire with 0.5–1% carbon.
Can it join copper and aluminium wire?
Selected models list copper capacities from 1 to 6 mm and aluminium capacities from 1.5 to 7 mm. Choose the model from the exact material and diameter range in the table.
What electrical supply is listed?
All five models list 400 V, 50/60 Hz, single-phase input. Confirm local supply compatibility, protection, earthing and installation requirements before ordering.
How should wire ends be prepared?
The ends should be clean, correctly cut, aligned and clamped according to the operating procedure. Scale, oil, coatings, poor alignment and inconsistent end faces can reduce weld quality.
How is a butt-welded wire joint checked?
Inspection may include visual assessment, flash removal, dimensional checks, bend or tensile testing and verification through the next processing stage, depending on the production quality plan.
What information should be provided with an enquiry?
Provide wire material and composition, diameter range, surface condition, required joint strength, production frequency, subsequent drawing or processing, test requirements and available electrical supply.
