Overview

Product Overview

The Single Column Vertical Turning Lathe Machine is designed for turning large-diameter rotational components in a stable vertical arrangement. The workpiece is clamped to a horizontal rotating table, allowing its mass to be supported directly while the crossbeam and tool post position the cutting tool. The open single-column layout provides practical access for loading, setup, inspection and machining.

The range includes PSCVTL5110, PSCVTL5116, PSCVTL5120 and PSCVTL5125 models. Maximum listed turning diameters extend from 1000 to 2500 mm, table diameters from 850 to 2250 mm, and maximum workpiece capacities from 1.5 to 8 tons. Available workpiece-height capacities range from 700 to 1400 mm according to the selected model.

Suitable operations can include external and internal turning, facing, boring, grooving, taper machining and related processing of rings, discs, flanges, wheels, housings and other heavy engineering parts. Adjustable table speed, tool-post feed, horizontal and vertical tool travel, and crossbeam positioning allow the machine to be configured around different workpiece envelopes and cutting conditions.

Typical applications include pump and valve components, gear blanks, bearing housings, rail and marine parts, pressure-equipment components and general heavy-machinery work. Final selection should consider the complete component diameter, height and weight, clamping arrangement, material, cutting force, tool access, required tolerance, surface finish, lifting equipment and production duty.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Single Column Vertical Turning Lathe Machine used for?
It is used for suitable turning, facing, boring, grooving and taper machining of large rotational parts such as rings, discs, flanges, wheels, gear blanks, housings and heavy engineering components.
Which models are included in the range?
The supplied range includes PSCVTL5110, PSCVTL5116, PSCVTL5120 and PSCVTL5125, with different turning diameters, table sizes, load capacities, travels and motor powers.
What is the maximum listed turning diameter?
The PSCVTL5125 lists the largest turning diameter at 2500 mm. The other listed capacities are 2000 mm, 1600 mm and 1000 mm.
What workpiece weights can the machines support?
The listed maximum capacities are 1.5 tons for PSCVTL5110, 5 tons for PSCVTL5116 and PSCVTL5120, and 8 tons for PSCVTL5125. Fixture weight and load distribution must also be considered.
Why use a vertical lathe for large rotational parts?
A vertical lathe supports the work on a horizontal table, so gravity assists with stable loading of large-diameter components. This arrangement can also provide convenient access to top-facing and internal features.
What table-speed ranges are available?
Depending on model, the listed ranges are 15–200 rpm, 6–160 rpm, 15–100 rpm and 5–80 rpm. Speed selection must suit workpiece diameter, balance, material, tooling and clamping.
How does a single-column model differ from a double-column model?
A single-column arrangement offers an open-sided structure and compact access for suitable work envelopes. A double-column machine uses a bridge between two columns and is generally considered for larger or heavier configurations.
What information should be provided with an enquiry?
Provide component drawings, maximum diameter, height and weight, material, required operations, tolerances, finish, batch size, clamping needs, lifting capacity, electrical supply and installation-space details.
