Overview

Product Overview

The MIG Welding range uses a continuously fed electrode wire and externally supplied shielding gas to create the weld. Coordinated wire speed, voltage and current support efficient fabrication with less electrode changing than manual stick welding, particularly on repetitive seams and production assemblies.

The range includes MIG250A, MIG400A and MIG600A power sources for 370–440 V, three-phase, 50/60 Hz input. Listed outputs at 60% duty cycle are 250, 400 and 600 A respectively, while continuous-duty outputs are 190, 310 and 465 A.

Wire-feeder speed is listed from 1.5 to 22 m/min. MIG250A and MIG400A support listed 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 mm wire, while MIG600A lists 1.0, 1.2 and 1.6 mm wire. Available feeder information includes air- and water-cooled configurations, push-pull feeding for longer reach, twin-spool options and flux-cored feeder arrangements.

Typical applications include general fabrication, structural assemblies, equipment manufacture, repair and workshop production using suitable wire, shielding gas and procedures. Select the system according to material and thickness, required transfer mode, joint design, wire type and diameter, duty cycle, torch cooling, feeder distance, electrical supply, fume extraction and production rate.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is MIG Welding used for?
MIG welding is used for suitable fabrication, manufacturing and repair work using continuously fed electrode wire and an external shielding gas.
Which MIG models are included?
The supplied range includes MIG250A, MIG400A and MIG600A with 60% duty-cycle outputs of 250, 400 and 600 A respectively.
What are the continuous-duty outputs?
At 100% duty cycle, the listed outputs are 190 A for MIG250A, 310 A for MIG400A and 465 A for MIG600A.
Which wire diameters are supported?
MIG250A and MIG400A list 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 mm wire. MIG600A lists 1.0, 1.2 and 1.6 mm wire.
Are air- and water-cooled options available?
Yes. The supplied options include air- and water-cooled wire-feeder configurations and torch choices, with water cooling identified for higher-current applications.
What is the listed wire-feed speed?
The listed feeder-speed range is 1.5 to 22 metres per minute using a four-roll drive and EURO connection.
What shielding gas should be used?
Gas selection depends on the base material, wire, transfer mode and welding procedure. Common choices include argon-based mixtures or carbon dioxide for suitable steels, but the approved procedure must define the gas.
What information should be provided with an enquiry?
Provide base material and thickness, joint type, wire type and diameter, shielding gas, required current and duty cycle, torch reach and cooling, feeder configuration, production rate and available three-phase supply.
