Overview

Product Overview

The Horizontal Machining Center is designed to machine multiple faces of a workpiece from a horizontal spindle orientation. Its indexed table allows suitable components to be repositioned around the vertical axis, reducing repeated manual setup when milling, drilling and boring features on different sides.

The supplied range includes PVHT-63, HMC-63, HMC-80 and HMC-100. All four models use one T-slot table or pallet with 1-degree indexing through 360 degrees. Listed table sizes extend to 1000 x 1000 mm, while maximum table loads range from 950 to 1500 kg.

Travel capacities reach 1600 mm on X, 1000 mm on Y and 1000 mm on Z, depending on model. The listed maximum boring diameter extends from 1000 to 1830 mm. A BT50-190 spindle taper, 20-6000 r/min speed range, MAS 403 BT50 tool-shank designation and MAS 403 P50T-1 holder designation are shown across the range.

Typical applications include box-type housings, valve and pump bodies, transmission cases, machine components, fixtures and other parts requiring accurate relationships between multiple faces. Model selection should consider the complete workpiece and fixture envelope, center height, boring diameter, table load, required travels, indexing requirement, tooling, tolerance, surface finish, chip evacuation, production volume and installation services.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Horizontal Machining Center used for?
It is used for suitable multi-face milling, drilling and boring of components such as housings, valve bodies, transmission cases, fixtures and other box-type engineering parts.
Which models are included in the supplied range?
The specification covers PVHT-63, HMC-63, HMC-80 and HMC-100, with different table sizes, indexing counts, load capacities, boring diameters and axis travels.
What is the maximum listed boring diameter?
HMC-80 and HMC-100 list a maximum boring diameter of 1830 mm. HMC-63 lists 1250 mm and PVHT-63 lists 1000 mm.
How much weight can the table carry?
PVHT-63 and HMC-63 list a 950 kg maximum table load, while HMC-80 and HMC-100 list 1500 kg. Include the fixture, clamps and accessories in the total load calculation.
Can the table rotate for multi-side machining?
Yes. Each model lists a 1-degree by 360-degree rotation arrangement. Confirm positioning accuracy, clamping method and the required indexing sequence for the intended component.
What spindle and tooling interface is listed?
The supplied sheet lists a BT50-190 spindle taper, MAS 403 BT50 tool-shank type and MAS 403 P50T-1 tool-holder type across all four models.
What spindle-speed range is available?
All four models list a spindle-speed range of 20-6000 r/min. The selected speed must suit the tool, component material, cutting diameter and operation.
What information should be provided with an enquiry?
Provide component drawings, material, maximum workpiece and fixture dimensions and weight, machining faces, boring diameters, tolerances, finish, tooling, production volume, indexing needs, electrical supply and installation-space details.
