Overview

Product Overview

The End Milling Machine is designed for machining the ends, faces and suitable edge features of long or large engineering components. Its column-mounted head travels vertically while the machine carriage moves along the horizontal bed, providing the working envelope required for controlled end-facing and milling operations.

The TLPEMM model uses a 150 mm alloy-steel work spindle that is hardened and ground, with Morse taper No. 6. Nine spindle speeds cover a listed range of 15 to 250 rpm, allowing the operator to select an appropriate speed for the cutter, workpiece material and machining duty. AC drives control the longitudinal spindle feed and vertical headstock travel feed.

With maximum longitudinal spindle movement of 600 mm, vertical travel of 1500 mm and horizontal travel of 3000 mm, the machine is suited to sizeable fabrication and workshop jobs. Typical work may include end milling, squaring, facing and preparation of machine frames, structural members, plates, dies and other components that fit the machine's capacity and clamping arrangement.

Machine selection should be based on the component drawing, material, workpiece dimensions and weight, required cutter, stock allowance, finish, tolerance, fixture design and production cycle. Confirm the final tooling, guards, motors, electrical configuration and optional equipment when requesting a quotation.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an End Milling Machine used for?
It is used for suitable end-facing, squaring and milling operations on long or large components such as fabricated frames, structural members, plates, dies and general engineering parts.
What spindle is fitted to the TLPEMM model?
The supplied specification lists a 150 mm diameter alloy-steel work spindle that is hardened and ground, with Morse taper No. 6.
What spindle-speed range is available?
The TLPEMM has nine listed spindle speeds covering 15 to 250 rpm. The correct speed depends on the cutter diameter, material, depth of cut and required finish.
What are the listed machine travels?
The specification lists 600 mm maximum longitudinal movement of the working spindle, 1500 mm maximum vertical travel and 3000 mm horizontal travel.
Are the feed movements drive controlled?
Yes. The supplied specification identifies AC-drive control for the longitudinal work-spindle feed and the vertical headstock travel feed.
Which motor ratings are listed?
The supplied sheet lists 15 HP, 5 HP and 3 HP electric motors with AC drives. The final motor and electrical configuration should be confirmed for the selected supply voltage and application.
What tooling is required for end milling?
Tooling depends on the material, face width, stock removal and finish. Provide the component drawing so a suitable cutter, arbor, workholding method and cutting parameters can be recommended.
What details should be provided when requesting a quotation?
Provide component drawings, material, maximum dimensions and weight, machining areas, tolerances, surface finish, batch size, electrical supply, tooling needs and available installation space.
